Abrigo Lapinha - Serra do Cipó - Lapinha da Serra (cz/en/es)

Třídím fotky a sepisuji zážitky.

Tolkiena, usínala s nimi a snila o dlouhých výpravách a dobrodružných cestách.

Pak jsme padli vysílení a okamžitě usnuli.

Další den ráno jsme osedlali koně a hladoví jeli hledat jednoho známého.

Přes kopce dál a dál

Rozlehlé pláně pohoří Cipó, vítr, slunce a kilometry cesty. Splněný sen. Víc už řeknou fotky...

I am organizing my pictures. There are many of them. I haven't told you about my incredible adventure on a horse back. Now it's the right time :)

I grew up with the books of J.R.R. Tolkien, slept with them and dreamt about long adventurous expeditions and trips. Short time ago, without even noticing, I found myself on one of those trips.

An adventurous journey

One day after a little bit of planning and with a lot of courage we left our home in Abrigo Lapinha around midday with three horses and a mule which helped us to carry our baggage. We were heading to 60 km distant village called Serra do Cipó on the foothills of a national park of the same name. Nobody really measured the kilometers and I would say that at the end there were much more of them. The trip was beautiful but because of the strong sun it was also quite demanding. Only few minutes before midnight we arrived to a pasture where we planned to leave our horses overnight. And because of this late hour we didn’t even try to contact our friend who offered us an accommodation and simply built our tents newt to our horses. At the second we lied down we all felt asleep.

The next morning we prepared our horses and walked few more kilometers without breakfast until we found our friend. He was already prepared to join the group and continue with us as a guide on the next part of our trip. However, after a late breakfast and general discussion we decided to take a day off, have a rest and continue the next day.

Walls full of history

We found ourselves back in time. The place where we stayed belongs to the oldest farms in the region. Formerly, it used to be full with people, mostly slaves, working on the extensive fields. So this stop over was for me a brief visit to the Brazilian history as well. I learned many new things talking to the people who live there and know the history of the place. And I also discovered new fruit which I hadn’t known till then - "cajumanga". A delicious mixture between the taste of mango and cashew.

Far away over the hills

Continuation of our amazing trip started after a good rest-day. We traveled from a village called Serra do Cipó over the mountains to Lapinha da Serra (well, the name is just a coincidence, "our" Lapinha is a completely different place).

The road was long, demanding (the climb to the top of the mountains with a strong sun above completely dragged out all of my energy), the terrain was often full of big stones which we had to climb next to our horses and the last part of the trip we did just with the starlight, finding our way over the streams and rivers. But we all survived without harm. And I have to tell that I trusted much more to the vision of my dear companion (horse) than to my own eyes.

Vast plains of the Cipó mountains, wind, sun and kilometers of the dusty road. A fulfilled dream. Let the photos tell the story...
---------------------------

Vyrazili jsme
We hit the road
Partimos
Sometimes it is necessary to check the equipment and rest in the shade, there is not much of it
The next day in the morning we had a meeting with our new companion and guide
At the end we didn't continue, we satyed in an old house and talked about the past and present with our hosts and learned many new things.
"A live musem" or where the past meets the present
Pro mě ty stěny a pokoje měly fascinující atmosféru
I was almost fascinated by the walls and the floor
Like from a tale
I think that already many feet walked here, what were their stories?
I almost forgot to mention the carambola tree...a paradise!
Between the present and the oblivion there stand just few old buildings and last people who still remember the stories.
Some photos are here just about the atmosphere, just because I wanted :)

Tady kdysi bydleli otroci
A place where the slaves used to live
El lugar donde vivían los esclavos
Přípravy na cestu - rozdělování nákladu
Preparations for the trip - distribution of the load
We are leaving in few minutes
Ya estamos saliendo
Jeden z posledních domů na cestě do kopců
One of the last houses to our way up to the mountains
A nikde nebyl žádný stín...
And there was no shade to be found...
Refreshing the horses by the river
Unexpected beauties of the surrounding nature
Las bellezas inesperadas de la naturaleza
Je fajn si oddychnout...
It's nice to take a break...
...and have a look to what we are leaving behind
Whe I look at this picture I think, is it really possible that I was there? It IS!
No řekněte, není to nádhera?
Just look! Isn't it beautiful?
I was feeling incredibly free and happy, I wish you could feel the same.

Sedla odložena, koně nakrmení, teď se jdeme najíst my.
The saddles down, the horses fed, now it's time for us to eat.

It is definitely worth visiting this place again and with more time...

...but now it's time to go

A ani Paraguajci to sem nemají daleko.

------------

I think I have turned to be a person who is resistant to plans. Well, at least on my travels. And thanks to that resistance I visited places I wouldn't have visited, because I wouldn't even know about them. Originally I was planning on being in Brasil only three months and travel to the South, to Argentina. It's been about six months now and I am still here, on my way to Paraguay. However, today is about something else. It is going to be a story about a totally unique, fantastic and amazing place, recently I even read it's considered to be one of the new miracles of the world.

The Iguaçu Falls in the state Paraná, Brasil

You can visit them from the Argentinian or the Brazilian side. And it's close even for the people from Paraguay. This natural beauty is located very close to the triple frontier of these countries. But enough about the geography. The waterfalls are unique by it's extension (Wikipedia says they are the largest in the world) and because of the quantity of the water running through them every second.

We got to visit them after an amazing day of climbing on the rocks in the national park. From some of the routes I could see the spectacle of the waterfalls...A very special place about which not even the Brazilians know. I am soooo lucky!! my life is simply wonderful...
---------------

Parque Nacional do Iguaçu

Pohled kousek od místa, kde jsme lezli
The view very close to the climbing place

Parque Nacional do Iguaçu

Co takhle lezení v jeskyni?
What about climbung in a cave?
Quieren una escalada en una caverna?

Cataratas do Iguaçu

A fascinating view of the waterfalls during the sunset

Cataratas do Iguaçu

Vodopády kam se podíváš
Wherever you look you will see waterfalls

Cataratas do Iguaçu

I was thinking about the liters and liters of water running here every second

Happy with my friends :)

Cataratas do Iguaçu

And I returned also during the day and walked through the park again

Cataratas do Iguaçu

Vodopády s názvem "Tři mušketýři"
"Three Musketeers" falls
 Cascadas "Tres Mosqueteros"

Cataratas do Iguaçu

Takhle vypadá "Ďáblův chřtán" (Garganta do diabo) z dálky
So that's how the "Devil's Throat" looks like from a distance

Cataratas do Iguaçu

A Ďáblův chřtán z blízka
And the Devil's Throat a bit closer

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sorting out some older pictures and remembering the times I spent in Lapinha, Minas Gerais in Brazil.

Traditions are different in all the places, but one thing they have in common. They are created by people. I am a person who is always looking for connections and company and who is happy to learn about traditions. So it was not that difficult for me to participate in few cultural events in the village. And Few times I was lucky to see the things from the inner side where the usual participants don't get. I got into the houses, kitchens and yards as a helper. For example during the religious celebration of St. Sebastian and The Divine Child Jesus.

The day of the festival starts with a breakfast in one house in the village. The place changes every year and it is really big deal for the hosting family to prepare everything. Many people send their part of the refreshment, so you can see on one table different home made cakes and biscuits. But of course many liters of coffee, tea, juice and special milk with caramelized sugar and spices are prepared. As the first guests the band came, played few songs in front of the decorated house and then started the breakfast. After them, slowly, all the other "participants" appeared, with many little princesses and princes. After the refreshment all start a procession which ends up in the church.

Well, it is much more than that, but I will let you enjoy the pictures which express the atmosphere much better.

Maybe last words are words of gratitude, because I had a great opportunity to get to know much more people from "my" village. And after this event, where I could help, many stopped to see me as "the foreign girl" and started to call me by my name every time I passed through the village on my bike.

Všichni neustále něco nosili a stoly se začaly plnit
Everyone was all the time bringing more food and the tables were getting full
Z kuchyně a do kuchyně
From the kitchen and to the kitchen
Připravovaly se dekorace na průvod
The decorations for the procession were prepared
It was a bit stressful morning, but finally, everything is prepared and the breakfast can start!
První příchozí
Arriving the first people
And after playing few songs for us they were putting away their instruments.
Ještě honem fotku, než se na to lidé vrhnou a nebude co fotit!
And one last picture before the people starts eating and there won't be anything left!
Odkud začít? Toť otázka!
Where to start? That's the question!
Malé princezny s vlajkami a jinými ozdobami a symboly už jsou připraveny.
The little princesses with flags and other decorations and symbols are ready.
As well as the "queen" of the procession with her group (she looked like a bride and I didn't really get all the groups and divisions...)
The symbol of the Divine Child Jesus. And if I am wrong, please, correct me. I am definitely lacking education in religion.
Průvod byl atrakcí pro celou vesnici. Například z hřiště na nás koukali přes zeď.
The procession was a spectacle for the whole village. For example from the football field they were watching us from behind the wall.
Tihle malí vojáčci byli úžasní. Jen zase nevím přesně, jakou mají v průvodu symboliku... Odpusťte!
These little soldiers were adorable. Though I am again not sure what is the reason to have them in the procession... Forgive me my ignorance!
Někteří lidé čekali přímo v kostele, na průvod i na mši.
Some people were waiting directly in the church, for the procession and for the mass.
