Terço je v portugalštině růženec. A taky pravidelne setkání farmářů ke společne motlitbě z okolí malého brazilského města Tupaciguara, kde jsem teď na návštěvě u své kamarádky Lizy a jejich rodičů. Nejsem zrovna náboženský založena, ale téhle akce jsem se s chutí zúčastnila, ze zvedavosti a z radosti, ze jsem byla na tuto akci pozvana.
Přijeli jsme na farmu, která má na svém pozemku malou kapličku. Tam se jednou za měsíc v sobotu v 7 večer sjedou lidé z okolních farem, aby se společně modlili "růženec". Po odříkání motliteb se potom všichni přesunou na farmu a užijí si společného jídla. (Takže už asi víte, proč jsem se na akci prichomitla já ;))
Já jsem při motlitbách ve svíčkami osvětlené kapličce myslela hodně na obě babičky a jen tak meditovala. Podle mě mají rituály svoji sílu a nezáleží na tom, jakého náboženství jsou. Pro místní mají tato setkání velky vyznam nejen nabozensky. Farmy jsou tady jedna od druhé vzdálené často mnoho kilometrů a tak je Terço často výborná příležitost upevnit sociální kontakty nebo dohodnout obchody.

Terço means rosary in portuguese. But in the area of the town Tupaciguara in Brazil it also means a monthly encounter of the farmers to pray together in a chapel in a countryside. I am visiting the family of my friend Liza who lives there on a coffee farm. I am not really religious, but I happily accepted the invitation to participate in this religious and social event. I was very glad about the invitation, it always means a lot for me when the locals take me to their traditional activities.
We arrived to a farm with a small chapel on it's property. Once a month on Sundays at 7 p.m. the farmers from the neighboring farms meet there with their families to pray together "the rosary". After the prayers they all go together to eat the dinner in the farmhouse. (So, now you can imagine why I accepted the invitation ;))
During the prayers I simply stayed quiet and meditated. I was thinking a lot about both of my grandmas. I think that rituals are a strong thing no matter what religion (if any) they belong to. These encounters, for example, mean a lot more for the local people. The farms are kilometers away one from each other here and so these monthly meetings fasten the social contacts and maybe also help to close some deals.

Terco significa en portugués rosario. Pero en la region de la ciudad Tupaciguara tiene también otro significado, un encuentro mensual de los granjeros para orar juntos en una capilla en el campo. Estoy visitando la familia de mi amiga Liza y me invitaron para participar. Yo no soy una persona muy religiosa, pero participé con muchas ganas, porque tuve curiosidad y porque estuve muy feliz que me habían invitado.
Llegamos a una finca con una capilla pequeña en su terreno. En esa capilla se reúnen las familias de la region siempre una vez por mes, el sábado a las 7 horas, para hacer la oración del rosário. Después van todos a la finca para comer. (Ya saben porque fui? ;))
Durante las oraciones estaba simplemente meditando en silencio y pensando mucho en mis abuelitas. Creo que los rituales, y no importa si son religiosos o no, tienen mucho poder en nuestras vidas. Esos encuentros, por ejemplo, son muy importantes para las personas de la región, no solo como un acto religioso. Las fincas están a veces muchos kilómetros una de la otra, por eso estos encuentros mensuales ayudan mantener las relaciones sociales y a veces fechar negocios.
