Marakuja, jedno z mnoha druhu ovoce, které me fascinuje.
Jako džus, dortík, želé nebo bonbon. Málokdo jí tohle úžasné ovoce přímo bez úprav, je kyselé i sladké zároveň. Se spoustou zrníček a tvrdou slupkou. Jsem vždycky celá ulepená, když už se rozhodnu dát si jednu přímo na cestě. Je prý afrodiziakem. Jiní říkají, že uspává a uklidnuje. Ani už nevím proč, asi má nějakou super látku, kterou jiné ovoce nemá. Já jen vím, že mě fascinuje její chuť. A teď, u kamarádky Lizy a její rodiny, ji mám kolik chci. Pne se tady na plantáži kávy. A padá po desítkách, už pěkně zralá, na zem. Jen sesbírat a jíst...
Pokud budete mít příležitost, určitě ochutnejte. Čerstvá přímo ze země není pro ty, co neradi kyselé ovoce. Ale jako džus třeba s cukrem je pro všechny. I moji mamince v Kolumbii moc chutnala.

Passion fruit, one of the many kinds of fruits here in Brazil which fascinates me.
As a juice, cake, mousse or a candy. Just few people eat this fruit directly without any kind of preparation. It is sour and sweet at the same time. With a lot of seeds and hard skin. I am always sticky from the juice when I open one directly on the road. Some people say it is an aphrodisiac. Others say that it calms down and puts to sleep. I am not sure anymore why, probably it has some super thing in it like no other fruit. However, I know that its flavor fascinates me. And now, while I am at the farm house of my friend's Liza's family, I can have it all day long. It is growing here on the coffee trees on the plantation. And it falls down in dozens, nicely ripe. Only to pick up and eat...
If you get the chance to try this fruit, I highly recommend it. Fresh just from the ground might be too sour for some, so mix it with water and sugar to get refreshing juice. My mom liked it a lot when she tried in Colombia.

Maracuyá, una de las frutas que me fascinan.
Como un jugo, una torta, un mousse o dulce. Solo pocas personas comen esta fruta natural, sin ninguna forma de preparación. Es ácida y dulce a la vez. Con muchas semillas y casca dura. Siempre cuando decido comer una en el camino, termino toda pegajosa del jugo. Algunas personas dicen que es un afrodisiaco. Otras dicen que tranquiliza y trae sueños. Ya no estoy segura porque es así, probablemente tiene alguna substancia diferente a las otras frutas. Lo importante es que su sabor es una maravilla. Ahora, durante mi visita en la casa de mi amiga Liza y su familia, la puedo comer todos los días sin parar. Crece en las matas de café en la plantación. Y cae al suelo en docenas, bien madura. Sólo recoger y comer...
