Poo de Llanes - San Esteban (en)

Sharing - a great part of the Camino is about sharing. I shared my breakfast with Jacques and Beatrice in the morning, they shared their smiles and gratitude with me. Everyday I shared something with someone and it was throughout positive experience.
This day I was again walking alone, but sharing little moments here and there with people I met. It was a quiet day in general. A little bit of rain, small towns and villages, nice views. Until I got lost a little bit. But it was only at the end and I found out my roundabout way much more charming than the original one.
The place I wanted to stay today was in a little old school on a top of a small hill (just opposite to a church and otherwise there was nothing around).
The albergue was a little bit wet and moldy (not too much! and the most important thing is to have a place to sleep and have a shower and it fulfilled both of these assumptions), but the people is what matters. And I found my old friends there - Jacques and Beatrice! And later even more unexpected guest came in - Andras!
So when someone asks me again - did you walk all the time alone? Were you alone all the time? I must answer that yes, I walked alone, mostly, but no, I was not alone, I had my friends around me, they kept reappearing and surprising me nicely.
Last time I saw Andras he had a pain in his leg and he wanted to slow down and take it easy. When I met him in Güemes he was still in pain and decided to stay there for few days and it helped him. But then he occasionally jumped to a bus or train to help his leg and keep up the speed. This is no big deal even though one might say it is cheating - right, but he has done the Camino twice already so he is all above the stuff. And I am happy he did it because we could meet again and again and again :)

One abandoned monastery. How beautiful it must have been one day...

Always such nice places for little breaks.

My boots were made for walking...

Apple tree in blossom. One disadvantage of making the trip in spring...
Yes, it is beautiful, but in late summer or autumn you could already
eat the apples from it! :)

It doesn't look like,
but it was a very hot moment and no shade to be seen.

Meadows and mountains, mountains and meadows.

If you check the guide-books about the Northern Way,
you will for sure find this picture there - not the mine one, of course...
