Maracujá (cz/en/es)

Marakuja, jedno z mnoha druhu ovoce, které me fascinuje.

A teď, u kamarádky Lizy a její rodiny, ji mám kolik chci.

I moji mamince v Kolumbii moc chutnala.

Passion fruit, one of the many kinds of fruits here in Brazil which fascinates me.

As a juice, cake, mousse or a candy. Just few people eat this fruit directly without any kind of preparation. It is sour and sweet at the same time. With a lot of seeds and hard skin. I am always sticky from the juice when I open one directly on the road. Some people say it is an aphrodisiac. Others say that it calms down and puts to sleep. I am not sure anymore why, probably it has some super thing in it like no other fruit. However, I know that its flavor fascinates me. And now, while I am at the farm house of my friend's Liza's family, I can have it all day long. It is growing here on the coffee trees on the plantation. And it falls down in dozens, nicely ripe. Only to pick up and eat...

If you get the chance to try this fruit, I highly recommend it. Fresh just from the ground might be too sour for some, so mix it with water and sugar to get refreshing juice. My mom liked it a lot when she tried in Colombia.

Občas mě sice vysiluje snaha porozumět novému přízvuku "carioca" (každý brazilský region, někdy i v rámci regionu, má svůj přízvuk a většinou i lidový název.

A už zase natahuju...Pro dnešek by to stačilo.

I will try to be brief and tell just the most important things from the last few days.
I am in Rio. I didn't really expect that or plan it that much. I don't like big cities, usually I am getting lost there. Besides, everyone was telling me how dangerous Rio is...Hovewer, I am in Rio and I don't want to leave. The city has trapped me, it's fascinating and inspiring and I have to admit how wrong I was about it.

But as usually it's all about the people. And I am extremely lucky to have great hosts and people around me. Days full of activities, places where just the locals go. My big Brazilian family has grown a bit more and includes now the people from Rio. They don't want to let me go, saying I should stay here :)

It's winter in Rio, which means for me that I can easily survive and won't die on the sun. It was even raining last two days. Nevertheless, I have done many interesting things. Umm, no, I haven't been to the center, nor to the Christ the Redeemer and not even taken a bath in the ocean on Copacabana beach...boring? Not really, because I climbed the Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf) on one of the most famous ways - Os Italianos!!! And it was a totally outstanding feeling to get to the top, with all our gear and rope and walk all sweaty and happy among the polished tourists and then eat together with my friends our açai...

Later we had a couple of beers, I met new friends, ate some fried "pastels" and talk about plans for the next weekend, where, hell yeah, I am already included. Everyday I am trying to get better in understanding this new "carioca" accent. (All regions in Brazil, and sometimes even within the regions, have their accents and they use nick names for people living in. Here in Rio they are cariocas, in Sao Paolo paulistas, in my dear Minas Gerais mineiros...)

Ok,. it's getting too long...So till the next time!
--------------------------------------------------------

Ya he visto y hecho muchas cosas. No, todavía no he visitado el Cristo. Y no, todavía no he ido al centro hacer compras o tomar café o no he nadado en el mar... Aburrido?

The view I had after some hours of climbing...it's worth it, isn't it?
