Notes with delay, but also with love

Retrospectively, I am sorting out my memories of the past few months. Among others I remember my departure from Colombia and farewell to this South American home of mine.

It's difficult to describe how absurd was the departure for me those few months ago. Maybe it's normal when you get used somewhere that much, when you really start feeling somewhere like home. Saying goodbye to the friends, to places, saying goodbye to everyday habits, all of that felt like from a dream. I was repeating to myself that it's simply not possible not to come back, so weird it felt...

I was asking myself "why"? And the answer was surprising but also surprisingly clear - because my intuition says so. Despite of the difficulties to leave, the desire to take off (even for a while) was stronger.

A všechny cesty mají svůj konec. Náš "road trip Boyacá" tady skončil, pak už jsme jen jeli a jeli zpátky domů.
_________________________________________________________________________________

On our trip we continued through Paipa and around it's beautiful lake. We also stopped by the monument of the Vargas Swamp Battle and remembered a bit of the Colombian history. And finally we got to the place of our interes - the Lake Tota

This lake lies in about 3000 m above the sea level, so it gets pretty cold around there. The life there must be hard, the wind never stops, the mountains are very close, there are only few plants which you can grow there. But the people are nice and friendly and the air is very very clear.

All coins have two sides. Hard might be much more beautiful than easy.

And also all roads have their ends. Our "road trip Boyacá" ended here, then we only drove and drove back home.

Na mé cestě mě velice překvapilo městečko Tunja svou nečekanou poetikou, řadou kaváren plných lidí v každou denní dobu a s ideálními teplotami kolem 16-18 stupňů.

A big surprise on my trip was a city called Tunja, with its unexpected poetics, coffee houses full of people all day long and with ideal temperatures around 16-18 degrees. I am actually not sure why this place was so different for me, but spontaneously I felt there very nice, drinking my coffee and writing notes from the trip. As they say - the time stopped for a while and I noticed how blue the sky is there and how high the clouds. Unfortunately I realized also that I needed to say goodbye to Colombia very soon. For an unknown period of time.

_________________________________________________________________________________
Villa de Leyva is one of the most famous tourist places in Colombia. Maybe because of that I was a bit suspicious and I wasn't planning to stay there for very long. But I was wrong. Now I already know that it deserves its fame and that you can pleasantly spend there more than one single day. Many of my friends even go there whenever they have few days off.

White houses of the colonial era, big offer of the tourist services but also signs of the normal life in a Colombian village. Thanks to tourism Villa de Leyva has been also  a center of the handmade products, so it's full of small shops. You can even pass by those with your eyes closed or have your money ready because you will definitely want to take something with you.
________________________________________________________________________________

The square was empty only in the morning

Morning, sunrise, the tourists still asleep

A little village Ráquira is a center of hand-made products and pottery. We were lucky to see it in the evening hours with all the shining colors. At this place we really made just a short stop and I was shooting pictures like crazy... The place was incredibly beautiful and romantic.

_______________________________________________________________________________

The weather in Chiquinquirá was really pleasant, surprisingly fresh, perfect to take a coffee (we are still in Colombia, aren’t we?). Without knowing we arrived to an important place for the Christian pilgrims - many of them come every year to visit the basilic and to admire the “Virgen de Chiquinquirá”. The village is also famous for production of guitars...It’s a pitty that I didn’t have a bit more time to see how they’re making them and maybe to buy one for myself!!

_________________________________________________________________________________
About the last stop in Santander, in a village called Puente Nacional, I let speak the fotos...

Maybe I'd just say that we were lucky to visit the village during a "celebration of the Earth", on the square there were many student bands with drums, speaches and info stands, so it was quite lively in that small village.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Tam jsme byli neskutečně příjemně uvítáni kamarádkou Marthou Lucií a její rodinou.

V centru města jsme si zašli do úžasné kavárny - pralinkárny KaKaw a obdivovali dokonalost pralinek "paní Wonkové", jak paní majitelce trefně přezdívá Martha Lucía.

Our first longer stop was in Barbosa, still in the department of Santander. There we were incredibly warmly welcomed by my friend Martha Lucía and her family.

In the city center we visited an amazing cafetería - chocolatería KaKaw and admired there the excellence of the Truffles made by "Mrs. Wonka" - a fitting name for the owner invented by Martha Lucía.

One of the best moments from the whoe visit of Barbosa we definitely spend in the microbrewery Casa Suárez from Martha Lucía. There we were tasting and enjoying beer, talking about hops, about the problems of Colombian microbreweries and other topics.

Thank you!!!

Muchas gracias!!!
