-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My visit in Rio was getting longer. Originally I planned to stay one weekend and at the end I stayed two weeks! The time was running faster than I would have liked to. Maybe it was due to my great company and so many nice things to do.

I have already written some articles in Czech about the topic, so I don’t want to repeat myself. And, yes, I know, they are in Czech, but the Uncle Google can help with the translation. At least a little bit... Or if you really really want to know more, you can always write me in the comments or directly. Anyway, I still have so many things to say about Rio and that’s what I will do here.

For example I completely forgot an encounter with two Czech girls somewhere in the Urca hill when we were buying our acai. I saw two girls coming to the shop and I immediately thought that they could be Czechs (don’t ask me why). I was watching them closely and when one said to the other one something in Czech I interrupted them impolitely and started to chat. They were really nice! We exchanged some excited words about meeting each other, Rio and our experience. It was a short, but very pleasant encounter.

A place which was a love at first taste was a little „soup shop of two brothers“ in the Botafogo neighborhood. And because I really fell in love with the place I dedicated to it a special article here.

I was discovering the beauties of Rio as the city of sport also during the evenings and nights. When we couldn’t go climbing outdoors, we went to indoor boulder gym Evolucao or to Ashtanga yoga. During our long evening walks along the beaches of Ipanema, Copacabana or around the lake we always saw many runners or other people doing exercise.

And of course I didn’t forget the cultural life. My friend Jorel was taking me to the many encounters and meetings with his friends, so I could experience the real Rio feeling. For example while sitting on the wall in the harbor drinking beer and chatting about life and climbing or on a small square close to his apartment (where you don’t see any tourists). We also went to small bars in the center. And they all share the atmosphere of summer, everything is happening outdoors, on the open air.
