Áviles - Soto de Luina (en)

Quite long day, about 40km. But at the end it was not that difficult. Alright, there were some moments...Like those when the marked Camino disappeared and it was very easy to get lost. On the other hand there were many beautiful moments this day, almost abandoned valleys and amazing landscapes, well-earned coffee in the middle of the lap.
And another day with Maria, talking about life and also about death, about his divorce, about how people sometimes grow up only in their adulthood, about how people can be mean to each other sometimes...about relationships, about Spain, the Czech Republic, about nothing. And we passed many moments, hours also just walking next to each other in silence. And that is the reason why it was so easy to walk with Maria, sometimes you also need the silence...
Our way was still lined with the architecture of "indianos", especially in a place called El Pitu - we could see a big neoclassic palace here as well as few houses, noticeable church and a school building. Some of the houses are well renovated, but some are in ruins.

Eucalyptus, humidity, mist...and sea and beach. But also highway, road, asphalt...Sore legs and a forest of silence and a forest of birds and shadows.

The albergue in Soto de Luina is in an old school and is quite small. And is full. We meet here our old friends, among other I meet Nunny, the nice Australian women, two Japanese ladies who became legendary along the Camino (many people heard about them even though not all of them were lucky enough to meet these amazing and vital ladies!), a group of Germans we met before and also my dear Jacques and Beatrice (even though they did not stay with us in the albergue, but rather in a guest house).
All the pilgrims eventually end up in the only thing open here - a local bar. And I think we immediately became a curiosity for the locals as for some reason this night everyone was speaking to everyone and we were all quite loud and gossipy.
Me and Maria took a beer or two and bocadillos with jamón for the dinner and were happy to be with people and enjoyed the rest after the long day.

Much later I realized that in this bar I met Ramiro for the first time during the Camino. Or was it already in Áviles? I am not sure. The only thing clear is that we got the chance to really get to know each other much later and I am very very happy about that. But the story about how I met Ramiro belongs to another day...

For the most tired of the peregrinos
this is like a fata morgana in the forest :)
El Pitu - the neoclassic palace.
El Pitu - the church.
Misty and humid, that was this day.
And here is the ocean and the beach once again :)
A short break after quite steep hill.
Will it rain or not? Fortunatelly the final destination is very close.
Soto de Luina.
The albergue.
